My clear coat is peeling away faster and faster each week. I started noticing it a couple months ago on the roof and now I've got 5 decent sized patches where the clear coat has peeled away. When I wash the truck it seems to help the clear coat flake off. I was thinking about triming off what's already started to flake and wetsand around the outside of the patches and hit it with some of that cheapo clear coat in a can to get me by. What would yall suggest, aside from getting a new paint job which I cant justify doing now because of $$$ and I'd like to put a Cowl hood and shave my handles in the next couple years so I'm pretty much stuck in **** creek till I get some $$

Any suggestions on how to seal it up besides doing what I'd originally planned? Yesterday I pulled off a piece almost the size of my hand, being that it's on the roof I've had people tell me they cant even see it so I'm gonna try to figure out somethin by Sunday.
did you get that done? If you did, take it back and make them redo it, if not, idk.

Not much you can do with that.Spotting it with cheap clear is not the answer,for starters you'll still be able to see where the clear has peeled it'll just be shiny.Second,the cheap clear eventually falls off as well so now you have two crappy paintjobs falling off.You can either pay the money and have just the roof painted or just let it go.
After washing the truck I've noticed a few more spots under the clear coat that I know will start to flake soon. Not only that but I noticed a patch on the passenger side door that looks like it's about to bubble up and flake off..So, I guess I'm gonna try and deal with it falling off till I get the funds together to shave some handles and get a new cowl hood I guess are gonna have to come sooner than later!
