    I have never had a vehicle painted before but i really would like to have the whole truck painted a dark silver or gunmetal grey anyone know how much im looking at to have a paint shop paint it? I know it depends but if i could get some figures and estimates that would be great

    I don't think I've ever heard of a body shop charging for an estimate but it depends on the finish and the shop for starters

    all depends on the size of the vehicle and what materials the shop uses/dont use. I would expect to see around a 3000-4000 for a traditional color change done the right way. thats what I would charge if I were still doing side work.

    Jer is pretty much right on the price for color change done right jams engine bay so on. Guy around me does really good work he did 3 stage on mid 60s Corvette 3500 plus paint. And that was wet sanded and buffed.

    I had my long bed 88 sierra painted silver. They also fixed some dents and took the bed off and painted between the cab and bed. I paid 3,000 but this was back in 1998. Also it was not a color change.
    2008 silverado ext. cab, 5.3L v8 Z71
    4x4, 3.73 gears with G80, 4L60E transmission
    Ready Lift Leveling 2.25" leveling kit and 3" rear block kit
