Yeah, i ran into that problem about 10 days ago when i installed my painted exterior door handles.

The small panel that contains the window and lock/unlock switches cannot be pried out on the 2003 like it is on the 2002.
First you have to pop off the triangular piece that covers the side-view mirror mounting hardware.
Then remove the screw that's partially hidden by the armrest.
Then remove the convenience light at the bottom of the door panel.
Then pry out the manual lock/unlock slider and remove the screw underneath it.
Pry off the trim plate that surrounds the inside door handle.
Pry up the back end of the switch panel in the armrest. the frond end is screwed down and the screw can only be removed when the panel is off of the door.
lift up and pull the door panel toward you.
after that find and remove the screw attaching the front end of the switch panel to the door.

While these directions were not perfect for my 04 they were close enough that they really helped.
