I ordered a custom built box to fit between my seats for my 10"Inifinity Perfect, the sub will be firing at an angled approach towards the windshield..it will be carpeted black....but now im thinking of keeping that and having a fiberglassed sprayed and cleared in red connecting all the way to the dash, and then spraying the dash trim red...anyone ever done this or have pics of something similar to what im talking about...

I'm going to do something similar to that soon, but I don't know how you'd connect it to the dash. Mine is just going to meet up to it.

Whenever I figure out how I want to do it, mine will just meet up with the dash and run all the way to the back wall.My biggest problem is working around the shifter.

hey man, I can fab you up a console, depending on what you're looking for. I just did one in a 71 chevy truck that flushed up to the stock dash, rolled down with some gauges and an eq to a flat area where I put the shifter, then back up to an armrest-type thimg that housed a 10" sub between the seats. had it covered in pleather and tweed to match the interior, and looks great, if I do say so myself! Ive done several like this, and as long as we're covering it, they turn out great!!! Ive tried fiberglass, and Im not that great at it, oh well.Originally posted by 1badgmc

-It has to run up under the dash, but not block the floor vents. The designs I had come up with were angled at the front to allow the air from the vents to blow on occupants' feetsies. Since the truck is a stick, I figure it'd be best to make it in 2 pieces to work around the shifter.
-I'd like 2 cupholders. I had come up with about 6" diameter and 6" deep to hold a variety of drinks.
-It must have one large storage compartment that I can put my bag controls and other miscellaneous junk in.
-It must be high enough in the center to use as an armrest.
-I want a compartment to hold my CD changer.
-It must flow up and meet up with the plastic trim piece on the back wall.
I'm really wanting a fiberglass console so I can paint it. If the whole thing is not fiberglass, the whole top of it will be painted and the sides done in gray vinyl.
Watch the tech articles here in the next couple months. I'll be starting on mine in a couple weeks when it's finally warm enough to do some real fiberglassing without a heatgun.
It kicks ass....
Never argue with idiots, they drag you down to there level, then beat you with experience
sweet..yea i want mine to have 2 cupholders and a place to house my VCR and Screen, cant wait to see pics
