I would say use a heat gun and some tools to press into corners (popsicle sticks, plastic knife, etc). T think that the guys who do this stuff use a thinner vinyl. Not totally sure though. Someone chime in!

wkdspd did my dash and i can tell you it looks like its was a bitch to do.
From what i can tell he used a heat gun and adhesive and stretched, used soem high strength tape and held it in place till the glue set.
might want to shoot him a pm and ask him

yep, thats pretty much it.
How do you think it'd go for an 98? I was thinking of painting the top part of my dash and then putting vinyl on the bottom pieces. I imagine it wouldn't be too bad if I took my time. What adhesive did you use? Or I'll just save some time and spray it with some SEM plastic/vinyl spray.Originally Posted by wkdspd

the later models (post 94) are harder, a lot more curves to stretch to, and harder to stitch the seams and make them sit dead-on the corners. there's a new material you might look at, made by AllTex I think, its an extra stretchy sport vinyl that will help contour much easier than standard vinyl or Ultra, if you can stand the texture. I use a commercial adhesive by 3M, but their retail 80 grade works very well in smaller applications.
Thanks, I'll look into it. Maybe I'll try wrapping it around the bottom piece under the steering wheel to see how it looks. With the bottom pieces I don't know how much stitching would be necessary. I would think you could just pull it around the pieces and then basically just glue on the back. It may be sloppy from behind, but when you pop the pieces back into place it should look good.Originally Posted by wkdspd

yep you need a thin vinyl or one like I mentioned specifically madeto stretch. for the defrost vent, dontcut the whole thing out, use the billet aftermarket vent from an s-10.
