Hey guys I'm pretty positive that black wasnt an interior color during these years but I just wanted to ask if it was. Was it? reason being is that I'm thinking of painting my truck greyisn metalic or silver but im wanting black interior. Am I gonna have to have it painted , clothed, or stained in order to get this done?

I don't know if it was stock on the light duty trucks, but the kodiak i drive in the summer has a black/gray interior, totally stock. You might be able to buy the parts somewhere.

Hes right about the Kodiak, But theres some differences. The center piece (where our A/C vents and [usually] stereo are) is missing. In place of it is a big hole (actually a real good place for a screen). So youre going to have to paint at least part of it.

The interior trim pieces did come in black, if you look on the back there are part numbers stamped for each color, they may be hard to find since there are not that many trucks with them.

hmm, I think the one I drive just has a regular a/c vent (no ac though, just heat) and a pocket. It isn't exactly the same though, its got some spaces for idiot lights at the top of the dash above the guage cluster and some other differences as well. Strangely enough it doesnt' rattle as much as mine does though, even though it spends all its time on much rougher roads

well I dont think CKresto sells full dashes but I cant remember. I do know that when you buy that crappy aftermarket center dash piece for aftermarket radio it can come black but ,YUCK it looks hideous. I have an LMC book commin hopefully next week so ill c what they have. But in the meantime ill try to find that KODIAK colored stuff. I just want a matching paint scheme for the truck and black looks the best on a silver or grey exterior. Thanks for the comments

If you have more info please feel free to chime in

Just paint yours .. prep work is key though.

    Needed:
    Tac-Cloth
    Shammy rag
Quality paint ( SEM makes agreat product )
    Wax Remover/grease removing agent
    S.O.S Pad
    Soap and water

Now the trick to a good prep is wiping the surface clean after you put the solution of anythign on it 'wax on wax off' type dealie.

So wipe the panel with soap water then use a clean towel or rag (a ?? shamy ?? cloth works veyr well) and wipe the water off.

After you do this step use the wax/grease remover. Do the samething, be very generous with it.

Now use the S.O.S pad. What this does is kinda 'sands' the panel but very lightly not noticable but gives the paint something to stick too.

Next I used a tack cloth to remove all the lint and plastic you just S.O.S'd.

Now you cant touch the panel becuase its 100% clean. Now its time to paint. Apply thin coats .. 5-6 i'd say with a good quality paint .. dont use the cheap walmart type stuff. Allow a 5 min dry time between coats .. thats in nice weather very warm.

Good luck! Mine turned out great did it a year ago and i clean it very very frequently and its not coming off yet!
