Maybe I missed something in your write-up or misunderstood what you are trying to accomplish, but assuming you are talking about the OBS Tahoes/Suburbans, they come from the factory with the separate lock/unlock button on remote keyfob.

I was just curious if anyone here has installed an electric lock solenoid for their rear barn door? If yes, easy to do, or did you have to manufacture a lot of stuff?

.... or maybe I'm an idiot
My brain is still stuck my old tailgate suburban with a seperate button inside the truck for opening the rear hatch.
I kinda expected the interior door locks to lock and unlock my barn door, which it doesnt, but for whatever reason, I never once thought that there could be something wrong with my truckI somehow thought that GM forgot to put a solenoid in the barn door
When I have the truck in the shop, I will check out the contacts to the barn door
Thanks for waking me up(PFK feels like an idiot)
My rear doors lock/unlock with the door controls (at least until I shorted them out a while back when I replaced my passenger mirror and crimped the wire during installation. No need to feel like an idiot...
Same here. My '99 Tahoe had a delay of about 5 seconds when you locked via the front door switch, with my '96 'Burb the key fob locks all the doors including the hatch at the same time.Originally Posted by TigerEyz3

Only reason why I feel like an idiot is cause I work on the all day long, and can't take the time to look at my own
I wish I was shaving them, but just looking to get them working.
My '99 has a mind of it's own. My fob locks and unlocks the barn doors sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. I guess there is a short somehwere and I just haven't had time to check it out.
