okay i am a noob to this truck and i am just wanting to know what all is involved with pullin it out cause i don't see any screws to take the panels off so basically a nice run down of how to do it would be greatly apprecitated..

the reason i am taking it off is to see if i have a loose wire. my fuel gauge sometimes works and then doesn't and my mileage area sometimes works and doesn't so i think maybe a bad wire or something.

this is for a 99 silverado

    thanks
    Jeremy

The trim that goes around the gauges, radio, and ac just pulls off. Get a small screw driver to get in between there and use your fingers to pull it off carfully. Put your tilt steering all the way down. Once it is off there are four screws holding the gauges in. Good Luck and take your time.

Your gas gauge problem is probably due to a bad sender. From what I understand many people have had problems with them.
