The sub box looks awesome! Not feeling the dash though... to much white I think. How do you get that paint to look all marble like?

Well, I finally got time to do some stuff I've been wanting to do for a while now. I bought a new dash bezel a few weeks ago, so I could sand/prime/paint it and not be bezeless for a couple days. I also repainted my sub box to match the bezel.
On to the pics:

Thanks, the whole point of doing the dash/box was to bring the white into the cab. On the bezel it would've looked a little much if I didn't break up the the marble. The marble look is very easy to accomplish with 4-5 colors, and a plastic bag, much easier/cheaper/and better looking then the marblizer you buy imo.
sweet. looks really good. any tips on the marble effect? at first look, it looks like black suede.
edit: now that i think about it ive seen a magazine article & they used the plastic wrap, but i think they only used 2 colors.

wow looks nice...what kind of mtx's are those? i used to have some old mtx 12's in my ride and they THUMPED...
The articles I've seen used a plastic wrap applied to a painted surface, then pulled away. The technique I use is simlar to sponge painting on house walls. Just crumpling up the plastic different ways to give different textures. I use more than two color to give more depth.
Samson, my MTX's are an old set of Thunder6000's I bought my Fiance for Valentine's day about 4 years ago, the box they were orignally in was and under seat in my 91' and it sucked. I built this box to the sealed specs. on the subs spec. sheet. And yeah they do sound pretty good.
CLEAN man!

Like the box a lot, dash is good as well. You got skills. A bit much on the white for my tastes (though your truck is WHITE afterall...), but it's pretty unique. Now just clean your damn floor mats![]()

Your work looks good but for me its just such a strange contrast in colors. It just doesn't quite seem to fit the truck.

Thanks. Rough on the outside, and nice and clean on the inside imo. Plus it's a better way for me to showcase my work to help attract more business, so far all I get now is word of mouth stuff, and my show truck is far from completion.Originally Posted by oldred95
Looks slick man, I really like it, especially with the matching box in the rear. Very clean looking!

It looks okay. It just looks like your interior is only half way done. The box and dash match but all the rest of the tan interior doesnt match at all. Maybe if you switched to a darker color interior it would look alot better. Or if you reversed the colors on the dash. Make the white look marbled and the marbled painted white.

When I get around to it, and when I find more pieces, I plan on doing the overhead console, the air vents on the pass. side, the switch panels in the doors, the speaker grilles, also plan on getting stainless guages, and a set of two-tone katzkin leather covers. Oh and if anyone knows where I can find a set of chrome inner door handles for the extended cab doors post a link, because my Fiance bought me a pair for the fronts last Christmas, but I want a matching pair for the rear. The closest thing I've thought about swapping interior colors out is, getting a black vinyl floor(like the stripped down w/t models) to help clean up easier after mud runs and hunting trips.
I have a lot of respect for what you do. Of cource it is never done. I think it looks great, and will only get better...and for the haterz
