The handle is probably the problem. There is some kind of spring that keeps the handle in place that must be broken or missing.

Okay i have a 60/40 bench out of a 88-94 style truck and i was wondering is there any way to fix the seat from flipping foward under hard braking, the little handle that goes on the back of the seat is broken is that the problem?
