I can't seem to find a specific thread on this-
In the spring, I want to take the headliner out of my truck and try to recover it in some of that fake suede stuff, the original one's starting to detach over the front passenger area and in the back too here and there.
I'm guessing it shouldn't be too hard to get out since I have a hatch and tailgate. But what do I have to remove to get the headliner board down? And how to I remove the pieces?
I'm assuming the front has the velcro like the pickup cabs do. Do the A-pillar trim parts pull right off?
I also need to remove the rear side panels...they're making squeak noises, I also want to get behind my quarters and check for rust in there. Do I just pull them off? If so where? I don't want to break them!

Not sure where all the clips are but you will need to remove the A,B,&C pillars. The fronts cone off fairly easy, pull down on the top and then out from the windshield. The others have a few screws I belive and clips also. Just be patient. Take down overhead console and dome light. Once all the trim is out the headliner does have velcro in front and possibly in the rear. I did my 91 truck in suede and its easy to do. Rip off all the original foam material. Then I glued some new foam headliner material down and then glued the suede to that. If not, most suede is too thin and will show imperfections in the board under it if a foam backing is not used.

Hey man, thanks, I actually got the idea to do it from originally seeing yours completed, I think it looks awesome.
Sounds good...I figured the A pillars just pulled off somehow and I also think there is a small hidden screw at the front of the overhead console...my C-pillars have screws to remove...still have to look at the wide B pillar trim pieces.

Anyone know how to get those rear side panels and the B pillar trim off? The rattles are driving me crazy and I want to put some sound deadener in the rear quarters as well...I just don't want to break these...I'm sure it would be a fun time looking for replacements at the junkyard!
