98 Silverado CD Player

Does anyone have pictures of their truck with a aftermakret deck? I want to put a new cd deck in my truck and take out the cd player and radio. Do they make trays to put where the old stuff goes?

there is a tray where the old slave cd player goes. can be found in salvage yards or the stealership. i am sure someone will chime in with a pic.

I will also try to get a few later. When I installed mine, I planned on buying the oem tray where the old cd player was. However when I pulled the cd player out I realized that it leaves a tray already, plus its a little bigger then the tray would be that you put it.

So in other words, even if you don't get a tray there will be a place to put misc items where the old cd was.

Thats exactly what i needed. Funny part is thats almost the exact deck i want. thanks for the pictures. How hard was that to install?

tilt the steering wheel all the way down, set e-brake, drop shifter into low, pop dash bezel out, unhook what needs to be, take slave cd player out, push cubby hole in. there are no tools needed. should take about 5 min.

I may have to do this soon too. Part of the problem is the led's are going out in the factory deck, and at night I have to feel around to skip songs or whatever, and now recently the cd player itself is getting harder and harder to take a cd. Keeps saying 'error' and spitting it back out.

Tape player still works though. Last trip to the dunes the tape adapter worked great hooked up the an ipod.

I have been craving some better sound quality though too.

Why do some of the OBS trucks have the seperate CD player while some have the CD player in the radio?

where did you guys get those recessed after market cd player kits? I got mine from wally world and its a pos. It sticks out and just looks awful.
