Or SEM. Was looking into painting it, but thought dyeing it would hold up better, for it being my only vehicle. Plus it would be a lot cheaper.

Ive dyed a few accent pieces black with SEM dye. I love the way it turned out. I made sure I prepped everything really well though.
Is there any product that adds oem looking texture to surfaces? When I was in my high school shop class I was a dumby and sanded my kick panels and the back panel.

i kind of doubt it. I would just try and find those pieces from a junkyard. I have a grey drivers side kick panel ill sell you if you need it. Its in great shape. The only thing it needs is for you to use your metal clip off of your panel cause mine walked off. PM me if interested.
You can get OEM-looking texture from SEM Texture Paint. However, it's the ABS-looking texture, and not the vinyl-looking texture. Junkyards are full of OBS's... I'd pick up whatever parts you need for the $10, and paint them whatever color you little heart desires.
And yes, black looks good on the OEM finish.

yeah that texture is acid etched into the parts mold... you will never duplicate it by spraying anything on it.
I vote to sand it all off and Base/Clear it all.
Yeah I did mine in SEM satin black at first. Then decided to smooth and paint it all later. Looked real good though and help up great. Just be sure to prep accordingly. I can get you those trim pieces you need also.

Bleed Purple TSU 2011
I'm wanting to know this also. I am buying a 95 sierra 2500 ext cab and I am wanting to dye everything black. All plastic and replace seats with something else. The truck has th dark blue interior now. I do not want to sand and paint. I personall do not like that look. Any directions to dyeing correctly? Any pics of this finished?

why does everyone want that texture though? I like the smooth look. Isnt that what's in yours drew? sand/high build/sand/base/clear?
The smooth look is nice, but it has its drawbacks.
1. It's a lot harder to get the dash smooth than to live with the texture.
2. You can get some pretty hellacious reflections on the windshield at certain times in the day.
3. Upkeep is tougher. You have to worry about scratches and whatnot.
I love my smooth, painted dash in my '91. But when it comes down to it, in a driver, I'll stick with the texture.
I just did parts of my dash, and a set of leather seats.

That looks really nice big mac! I really wish i could find some bucket seats for the truck and do the same. How was dyeing the leather?
I think the smoothed dash looks good for trucks that are lowered and are going for the custom look. However, I'm going for a revamped stock kind of look. I don't want it to have that custom feel. Although almost everything wil be. Black plastic everything, Camo roof and door fabric, swapping the seats for bucket and console. Other than that I am not doing anything to the interior.
