I have seen some threads about where to mount cb's so i thought i would share where i put mine. I never used my divorced cd player since i had my ipod so i got rid of it. I also didn't want to mount an external speaker anywhere in my truck and i like doing things the more complicated way so i wired my door speakers to a 3-way toggle switch. One side is for the radio and the other is for the CB. Oh and the wires are not still hanging out of the dash by the way.

    Re: Cb mounted in dash

not all that hard...i just used a hacksaw on the inside till it fit. then used a file to smooth out the plastic.

you can see the cardboard between the cb and door, that was used for a lil while till i had time to fab up a piece of plastic to fit under the cb

Hey, can you give a few more details on how to wire up that 3 way switch???? Did you just break the positive wire, run the grounds straight.... I want to do the same when I install my CB in next week or two.

    Thanks

    Re: Cb mounted in dash

Here is a crude diagram of what i did. my speakers were stock so it worked, i believe the speakers have to be 8 ohm to work for the cb. Also, going to the switch from the radio i had to use just one imput or else the sound was very distorted. Basically both front speakers are fed from the left front output from the radio
