What year is your truck? Do you currently have a full bench seat or is it split? If it is split is it the 60/40 or 40/20/40?

i have an 01, its the same body style and everything, also mine is a 40/20/40
It will work. Dependent on the options on his seats it may or may not just plug in on the wiring side. You may have to run a couple of extra wires.
well also mine arent power they have the bar underneath to move it but is there a plug already installed under the seat
Take a look at the connector already under your drivers seat. It may already have power going to it just not being used. The power is normally a large orange wire while the ground is black. If you have power there and can connect in directly your drivers seat is done.
As for the passenger, I had to do this, using a spliter from the orange and black wire from the drivers seat under the carpet over to the passenges seat. You will then need to get the power and ground into the connector or splice them directly into the passenger seat.
Shout back if you have any other questions.
Have a nice day.

ok i know its been a while since i wrote on this thread but now i have a new question, my buddy is now going to give me the seats since his transmisson blew and his dad is making him get rid of his truck, do i need to install a relay or a fuse so i dont blow something expensive. this is for mainly bill to answer since he has done this, but i would really like feedback from anyone else.
I didn't put in a relay. Check under your seat and see if you have a large orange and black wire. If so using a volt meter check to see if there is power on the orange using the black as your ground. If it is there you have power to the drivers seat. For power to the passenger you may have to splice into the orange and black and run wires over to the passenger seat. That is what I have done and everything has worked fine.
Have a nice day.

thanks alot Bill, you really have explained it very well and i will let you know how it goes. i went to a dealership and they said it couldnt be done, but i believe you over them since you have actually done it. thank you, i hope i can get them soon, school takes up all my time

ok i took my seat out and i couldnt find the orange wire. the black is pretty noticable causes its grounded right by the box under the seat. So Bill can you tell me where the orange wire is located, could it be somewhere in all the electrical tape.
You could look in the bundle of wires. My orange wire was within the connector and clearly visible. The difference in years of our trucks could explain the difference as to why I had the power line there and you don't.
If there is no power available under the seat then you will need to find a constant hot source, would recommend a spare one in the fuse box. Run a wire from there to your seats, ensure you fuse the circuit to preclude anything serious from happening.
Have a nice day.

thanks bill i was trying to put a pic on here of my wires but i couldnt get it to load on here. is there a box under your seat as well like mine. is that where your orange wire connects too
Yes, that is where I found my orange and black wires. Within the connector under the seat.
Have a nice day.

ok ill look again today for it and let you know what wires i find thank you
ok after taking out my seats again i have found some things. first i did not find a orange wire to the connection, maybe it is a different color for my year. second, in the fuse box there is a fuse missing but is labeled cb seat. i dont know what that cb means but i saw seat and thought it could be something. It has power going to it at all times but needs a fuse, Next, there is a connection next to the box under the seat, there are four wires going into it, but only two coming out that connection which connect to the seat for the seat belt indicator light, what are the other two wires, ones green and ones brown.
