My 97 Silverado 2500 has a stock vinyl bench seat and has seen better days and I have been thinking of doing a seat swap. Luckily, after one week of owning the truck my buddy was parting out a 97 Z71 he just bought...he gave me the 60/40 leather seats. Very happy! Now, as I search to figure out how I mount them and wire them I am having second thoughts. Many threads are confusing for the simple minded like myself.

Do I use the 60/40 seat brackets, or my bench seat brackets for mounting? I know I will have to drill holes, then nut and bolt BTW.

I had to clip the wiring as I was in a hurry. The drivers side has 2 orange wires and 1 black, the passenger side as 1 orange and 1 black. Do I splice them together and wire them directly to the battery?

Sorry for all the questions, this thread may help someone else as well. Thanks for replys and help.

And...my truck is a regular cab. I put the seats in last night for test fit, it appears I am going to have to drill 5 holes to mount these. Does that sound right to anyone?

I am using the 60/40 brackets but for some reason, the factory holes dont line up on the passenger side. drivers side outers matched fine.

Need some help guys, right now I'm stuck with only 3 bolts holding down these seats. Gonna try to make these work this weekend or else they're going to the junk.
