I have had an issue recently with my dash basically freaking out.......the message center flashes "low fuel", the "battery", then "security". At the same time the gas gauge goes to "E", the ABS light comes on, the seatbelt light, and the temp gauge goes to zero. It runs fine while doing this, then will suddenly stop. All lights go off and the gauges will work again.. Any ideas?

Finally took it to the stealership, their 'best guess' is a new instrument cluster. I have not had this done, and the problem still occurs intermittantly. Since the car still runs great with 110,000 miles, I am procrastinating, and afraid that the $$$$ spent wouldn't fix it. I think it's more like a loose wire / connection. No answers, sorry.
No its the cluster they have bad thing of going on the fritz and only the dealer cab fix it unless there is a shop in your area that can reflash it
Can I just buy a new cluster and fix it myself? For some reason I can only find them online from junk yards? Is it a dealer only part to buy a new one?
So I broke down and took my truck to the dealer. I made out pretty well. They wanted 2 hours to diagnose which I agreed to. They found 2 problems. An intermitent ground in the ignition switch. This was causing most of the problem. The PCM would lose the ground signal so the cluster would act like you just started the car (all alarms come on). They also found a problem with the cluster. It took them 3 days to diagnose everything. I ended up only paying the 2 hours of labor for diagnosis because the service rep that checked me in was fired and totally screwed up my ticket. They couldn't read his notes and when I went to pick it up the first time they were chasing stuff that I never said was wrong. They ended up giving me a free rental for the next 2 days. They charged $369 for a new cluster and no labor to install it. So far my problems are fixed. I still lose my fuel level every once in a while but that is because of the sensor on the Fuel pump. I plan on replacing that myself.
