i am trying to remove the dash on my 95 gmc. i have gotten it loose and pretty much off i just cant seem to get the big wire harness off of it or the duct. i have looked all over it and cant find anything else holding it on. please help me out. i have removed all screws i can find and bolts unhooked all wires the only ones that wont come out are the ones for radio and ac. and i cant figure out how to get the duct out. any pics of info would be apreciated. i have searched but cant find out how to get those things out. everyone just says trial and error pretty much. the reason i am taking it out is because something has clogged my duct work. it used to be a work truck and all kinds of things have fallen down the defroster and vents. so any info on taking the ac apart will also help.

Honestly? Get someone else to do it. You waited less than an hour for a response before you busted your dash...so leave the A/C box alone.
Sorry; just trying to offer some tough love.

well i figured out of all the members someone would know how to remove the ac box. but it seems there isnt even anyone who knew how to remove the dash. it was busted to begin with so it was no loss to me.
if i remember correctley there are 2 or 3 screws in the engine compartment that are holding it in place. hope that helps

k i will look tomorow. thank you.
You posted and didn't even wait an hour for any responses before busting your dash all up. It's hard to find good dashes for these trucks, and brand new they are over $1,000 just for the bare shell.
My suggestion is to let someone who is either experienced, or at least more patient, do it for you, before you tear it up any further.
If you think nobody here knows how to do it, you haven't been paying much attention. Quite a few people here have built these trucks from nothing - bare shells - including me.
Richard
thats fine but when i asked a question you told me to have someone else do it. that is not the question i asked. for someone who builds these trucks from scratch you were unable to help me. it is not hard for me to find a new dash. i have three trucks that are parts trucks. so i have three extra dashes. my dash was already busted i was going to replace it anyway because the previous owner busted a hole in it. you do not know my experience or me for that fact so you have no right to judge me or ridicule me. all i did was ask a question. i did not expect to be considered underquallified by someone else. this is a forum where people can come together to learn and share problems and fixes for their vehicles. so you neither have the right or the privelage to underestimate my ablilities or my knowledge. if you did not know how to help me then you did not have to post. im getting sick of people like you every time i ask a question someone tells me i cant do it im not experienced enough or qualified for the job. well so far i have proven everyone wrong who has said it before. and i wont have a problem doing it again. i asked for help . if no one wants to help me then i will learn on my own.
I'm talking about your first post. You asked a question and then went right to tearing up your dash. If you had mentioned that it was already broken, maybe I'd have a different attitude, but all I saw was some impatient guy willing to bust his truck all up because nobody answered his question within 5 minutes of it being posted.
When you need help, patience is the #1 thing you should possess, good communication skills are next, and a good attitude is crucial.
So far from what I've seen, you have none of them.
Good luck...
Richard
Fiberglass fixes everything. If the break is burried behind things, you don't evn need to sand and paint. If it's in view go for the smooth look.
yeah i seen a pic earlier of a 94 dash with newer door panels and everything was smoothed i liked it so i think im going to go that way with it.
