    does anybody know if there is a quick way to remove the heater motor from my '89 GMC Sierra? is it a dashboard out job or will it come out through the footwell?

    This pic is from a '98 but the design is the same. The dashboard itself is different and the 88-94 may be a little tighter fit, but it doesn't need to be removed to get the fan motor out.

    Yup no dash removal. Take the glovebox out, then the ecm will pop out allowing you to removing the rubber cover. Then a few screws and its out.

    i didn't want to take the dash out for no reason, thanks for the info. better get on with it!
