Rain leaking into cab

I have an 07 Crew cab that is apparently leaking from rain. I just got out of it after driving to the store and noticed it. I have never seen, or felt, it before. It is on on both sides, looks like it is starting at or near the top of the doors. The headliner is wet and it looks like water is dripping (although slowly) out of the air bag inserts (or plastic covers). All 4 seat belts are pretty soaked from it and it is starting to pool on the floor.

I do have a sun roof and I thought that may be the issue. I felt around the inside of it and did not feel any water. The headliner is also dry around it.

Any tips/ideas for a fix? It is still raining, so I figured I would get some advice before I tried to self diagnose. It has been raining on and off for the last day, so there has been plenty of water.

open up the sun roof and you should see 2 little holes in each corner, these are the drain tubes for the sunroof, chances are they are probably plugged up with dirt and debris

take some compressed air and just put the nozzle into the holes and spray them out, have someone watch under the truck and see if anything blows out when you do

check and make sure all the seals are still in good shape also, something might have gotten torn at some point and now it wont seal as well

Thanks for the response. The rain stopped for a bit so I went out and took a look. I saw the two holes you described. I shot some air through and then poured some water in and everything seemed to flow fine. However, when we shot the air, we did not see anything shoot out. We may have missed it, but we had the truck pulled to a covered area and could not see anything.

I checked the seals and they seem to be in good shape. I have only used the sun roof like 3 times in 4+ years.

Any other thoughts or suggestions? The rain picked up, so I am back inside for a while.

ya those drain tubes were probably just clogged up

i would go out after a while and see if it all dry after the rain again

sunroof drain tubes get clogged up often on many cars and trucks

Will do. Thanks again. I just thought it was weird that all the low points of the headliner would be soaked since the drain for the sun roof was right behind the front tires on each side. I'll give it some time and see if we get any wetter.

Well we got more rain last night, and I got more water leaking inside.

For the sun roof, I wanted to be clear. The holes you were talking about were the drain holes at the front of the sun roof on each side, right? If so, those are drained.

The rear seems to be worse than the front. The area above the seat belts for the back seats is soaked and there are litteraly water droplets forming and rolling down the sides. Floor is pretty wet and the water is running off the seat belts and onto the seats.

Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions?

Well we had a light rain and there was no leak, so I thought it was fixed. Then a heavier rain came and it leaked again. I read somewhere else that it could be the rear brake light, anyone heard of that or what I would need to fix it with?

You can try running some clear silicon across the top and down the sides of the third brake light. Mine started leaking there this past year. After doing the silicon I have had no further problems.

I just did the seam all the way around the brake light, hopefully that will do it. I am going to give it a few days to get good and dry and then I will test it out.
