I really couldnt stand the stock tone door chime unit in my tahoe and my suburban, Found out that the door chimes from lumina's and any of them with the 8 blade connectors will work and be a normal bell sounding one. I know most of you just get rid of them but i actually like mine in because i come home from work really tired sometimes LOL

Step one. Get on your hands and knees. Step Two. stick your head under the dash and look at the parking brake pedal. Step three. Look up and forward. Right there. it plugs in to the right. Im glad someone understands why the dinger is important lol. Good for when your buzzed ... Of course not drinking and driving just sitting in your driveway...

Might have to look into changing this.

The stock OBS door chime could wake the dead.

Im 75% sure that NBS have the chime integrated into the stereo system, But i cant say im 100 percent sure. Only way to check is to create a situation where it would be dinging and put your ear near the door speaker.. if its coming from the door speaker.. you have the integrated chime... Which can be turned off somehow thru the stock radio unit.

Kraz i know what you mean from the second i bought my first obs suburban back in the day and heard that annoying thing i was like " i just paid how much for this truck.. and a Hyundai has at least a better sounding chime"

I wrapped electrical tape around mine to quiet it.

yes. all nbs and newer all of the system alerts are integrated through the trucks sounds system.. thats why if you replace the factory head unit there is a complete wiring kit with a module that retains the system alerts..

I ended up buying a door chime out of a Camaro and it was way worth it. I would recommend everyone to do this if you hate the stock buzzing, it was a very easy mod, too.
