it probably has a cover, and once you take the cover off, there should be some kind of clip that you can unclip...dont quote me on it, i know i've seen it, but never looked to take it off..

I've been told this is part of the onstar system which I no longer have in my truck. How can I remove this part as well? I'm getting ready to get a brow strip across the windshield so it's going to have to come out anyways. TIA for any help.

Guess I need to get at it with a screwdriver and see what happens. Really technically it doesn't matter if it breaks since I don't have onstar anyways. I hope the headliner doesn't have to come down to get to the base of it or something stupid though.

just to update........did some investigating and the box itself slides off, but leaves behind a ugly metal mounting bracket that of course runs up above teh headliner.
