    Truck is ls package, no power seats. Found 02 avalanche seats that are power with manual lumbar at the local yard. Was gonna buy them but now thinking they might not work due to airbag sensors being different between the models. Does the 02 avy have same issues with being plug and play as the 02 silvy?
    Any other issues to worry about? Basically just trying to get seats with the arm rest since I upgraded to a center console and it sts too low to be comfortable for arm rest. Plus lumbar would be nice

    Let me preface by saying I don't know EXACTLY, but I will share this info with you;

    A few years ago I took an 06 gmc SL1 and added power windows and locks. I wanted it to look factory so I tried to get factory parts. I was told somewhere along the way that 03+ uses "pulse-type" wiring that runs everything through BCM's while 02 and older uses "relay" wiring. In my case, I had to use switches and panels from 02 and older in my 05 to avoid needing a new harness and installing BCM's.

    Based on that knowledge, besides the connectors possibly being different, you may also need different wiring. The bolt holes should line up though! Good luck.

    yes. the airbag sensors are different. You have 2 choices here... Use the risers and mounts from your 05, or drill holes and swap the sensors over from your old seats to the new.

    I had an '03 Silverado Base and installed LS seats from an '02 in. There was a bladder under the passenger's seat foam to sense weight on the passenger's side. I had to take that out of the old seat and install it into the new one. I ended up using the risers from the '03 seats since teh sensors were already mounted. It was a LOT easier than drilling holes and changing everything over.

    Re: 02 avalanche seats into 05 silverado

    So I'm going through something similar now myself. I just put 03 Avalanche seats in my 02 Avalanche. The wiring harness on the bottom of the seats were different (had different plugs where it met the truck) but the motors and switches were the same plug. I swapped the wiring harnesses and the 03 seats work fine in the 02 avy. The problem is the separate airbag connector (yellow).

    The old seats had airbags inside them, and the new ones don't. There is no way for me to remove the airbags and install them in the new seats, but now I have an airbag light on my dash.

    Does anyone know if I can just connect the two wires (jumper them together) to close the circuit and shut off the light?
