glovebox hard to close

    glovebox hard to close

    On my 97 chevy the glovebox must be slammed pretty hard to get it to close. Anyone know why this is or is that just how it is.

    I've had to add a little lithium grease to lube the mechanism. It helped a lot. The latch in the door would stick and not really like to lock......

    i'd jus tpick up a small bottle at home depot or somewhere like that, and maybe once a year, or whatnot, give a little squirt into all your locking mechanisms, same as you do to all the lockable handles in your home.

    mine is like that too, and I have noticed the stiker is worn out. havent had time to replace it yet, but it looks easy enough to do.
