does anyone have any pics of a half ton? Or has anyone done a half ton? I am going to do mine very soon, is the only company that makes a half ton kit, Fabritech? As far as the t-case goes what are guys doing with the autotrac? I really would like some feedback, doing it no matter what, but info is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!![]()

off road direct is coming out with NBS SAS kits for a little over 500 bucks. i just emailed them and their tweakin a few things on the kits and got me to send them some pictures of my undercarriage to look at a 99 exhaust. youre gonna need a new transfer case

You will have to swap out the autotrac for a 241 and do a floor shift or keep the electric and do a 243. On a side note the front driveshaft for the 241 will be cheaper than the 243.
Fabritech is about the only people with a kit out for the NBS 1/2 ton at the moment.
Last time I talked to ORU and they have no plans to make one for the NBS 1/2ton trucks.

ok to you maybe i came off as one... but to me you came off as loving this kit so stop your bickering. im aware pics on the internet can be deceiving thats why i would like to know some particulars about it. and about my knowledge, how much time have you researched into doing sas, from what you said in a previous post probably not to much, so dont make gd acusations and talk to me like i dont have a firm grasp on what im talking about. im well aware i currently dont have a sfa on my truck, and that doesnt mean jack $hit about what i do and do not knowOriginally Posted by hootdocta5
and just lol at the nbs cepek comment
if you have a problem take it up with PMs... lets get this thread back on track

There was another kit posted somewhere, it had a neat idea built in of movable rear shackle mouting points off the same plate bolted in. Very cool to adjust shackle angle just right for different springs.
There, there's a guy with an SFA's opinion.

IMO, the hardest part of an SFA swap is finding a decent donor axle. Buiding the brackets is cake.

yes, it will need to be swapped because the drive shaft spins all the time and being witht he hubs unlocked the teh tcase will be turning the differential and the shafts, it will burn up an autotrac case fairly quickly. and an added bonus is a more reliable/ stronger case than the horrible 246Originally Posted by TireFryer30th
