ran 33"s with a torsion bar crank and 2" block, granted they didnt have much tread and rubbed just a little,, mine where 325/60/18=33/13.50/18

I have a set of DC 35x12.5x15 tires that I was going to put on but I am not sure if they would fit. I can sell those and look for some 33s. Maybe some toyo open countrys?

with the body lift maybe some ford keys, 2-3" rear block, minor trimming you should be able to clear the 35"S

Trimming depends a lot on the width of the tire. To avoid it altogether, I would go with 33's.

Re: 98 tahoe (3" body lift, 33 or 35 tires)

There's lots of people on here clearing 35's with a 3" body lift on OBS. Hell there's people clearing the tires I have on NBS trucks with a RC leveling kit.

I've got a 2" block in the rear of mine for extra clearance, but for 35's I really don't think you'll need a block in the rear. If anything maybe a 1" block. Crank your stock keys up some to level it and trim a little bit and you should be solid.

And I did have to trim some, but hardly any. It will rub if I hit a bump while turning fast, but its easy to avoid if you just know how to drive smart...

IMO, 33s/285s look really stupid on a 3" BL. Here's a pic of my tahoe with the 3" BL, no block, and cranked stock keys to level...and with 16x8 rock crawlers with 4.25" BS

    Compared to now...

Trimming is just cutting the plastic piece like 1" higher...

My 36's rub frame so I can't turn full lock...but it doesn't rub bad on the fenders, just a little trimming and you'll be good.

Re: 98 tahoe (3" body lift, 33 or 35 tires)

I don't have a 3" body lift, but i have 3" blocks and crank, and 1" body lift, so 4" of total lift. I rub the 15" rims on the fender, and my 33's chew the fenders up because they tuck in there so high. 2 more inches would make it rub a tad less but would not eliminate it.

So it really just depends how you use your truck. If i stuck to pavement and dirt roads i could possible run a 35.

I know i like 3 years late on this post but to answer the question...With a 3" lift you can run 35's.
