I contacted High angle driveline about their driveline brake and was in for a world of hurt. Their website is kinda missleading, says $299 for the brake kit. Read a little further, then you need a patented flange. Then call then and you will also need a u-joint flange. Well when all is said and done you will have $300 for the rotor and caliper, $100 for their patented flange, and another $80 for the u-joint flange.... Grand total of $480 on top of the price of the $320 SYE kit you need to run this.

    Way I found around it:
Get the tcase output patent flange from HAD $100
Get the caliper from TSM for $100
Ujoint flange spicer PN# 3-2-1579 from local custom driveline place, mine was $45
Go to local machine shop and have a 10" (depnding on clearance) 1/4" thick rotor made w/ a 2" bore and 4.25 bolt circle diameter w/ 1/2" holes, should be less than $100 (mine was free )

I can get specs if you need anything...

I have absolutely no use for a driveline brake, however I'd love to see pictures of yours mounted up when you have it done. I think they're cool. Is the brake an emergency brake type thing or does it just plumb into the existing brake system?

What are you doing for a caliper bracket? I've got HAD's and it looks pretty simple, just curious what you came up with.

That's good to know, I have looked into HAD's kit myself for when I do the 14SF install, and have too wondered if I could fab one myself with just trying to buy the SYE kit.

Why not run an ebrake setup on the 14b SF?

Re: How to make your driveline brake.

I'd like to convert to the larger discs like I have up front, and I use my e-brake almost every time I park and with the things I have seen on disc setup parking brakes not working, I would feel much more secure using the drive line brake and taking advantage of the gearing. I have yet to see a parking brake on a disc not fade and go out after a while of use, plus I pull some larger trailers (6-10k) and the mechanical advantage I think is well worth it when parking on a hill. Just my opinion though.

Why not try to run a stock rear disk setup, with the drum in hat style.

Because those setups are the ones that I've seen go out, I know it can be done, I just like the advantage you get from the gearing in the rear end. Plus it's also kinda a cool factor, how many street trucks do you see or hear of running around with a drive line parking brake? Around here the number is 0, and I like to differentiate myself from the crowd.

I have not got that part yet since I have not yet cross drilled the rotor or turned it down to the correct size. Looks stupid easy to make though.

Re: How to make your driveline brake.

Go price out a 241 Box4Rocks, 6 bolt 32 spline input, 32 spline Ford output, fixed rear yoke 205 with HAD e-brake out back.

Or just go price out a 3 speed Stak or a 4 Speed Atlas.

    Less than $1k isn't bad.

I know, but I could have saved a ton by not running rear discs. BTW, why are your rear calipers soo damn low mounted?

Re: How to make your driveline brake.

its a cable operated parking brake, when you rear disc a 14bff you use front 3/4 ton brakes that have no provisions for parking brakes.
