Dlux fab tone ring kit to keep my abs, acdelco abs sensors, 241 32 spline with tall flange from just chevy trucks .com with 50,000 miles and a 60 day warranty. Wheel spacers to push out the km2s 2.0 for the rear..makes it right at the edge of the flare and 1.5 front to push em out and to clear the radius arms at full turn since i have a large offset wheel. Re: Start of 2500hd sas....

Started yesterday the case swap, i had a 263 with the push button 4wd, i swapped a np241 in a stock t case shifter thats the same interior color. Also took out the switches and added in a pocket from a manual shift truck or 2wd. I got the service 4wd light so i unplugged the tcase control module and that didnt do it, i tried the scan tool and with my hypertech in there it didnt work either, i then unplugged the battery and got it. The rear shaft was 1.5 too short, i dropped it of earlier today and will have it retubed and balanced ready to pick up in the am. Used a gm 241 gasket, a standard 241 pigtail for the vss and changed the slip yoke seal. For the vss on the 263 there is only one speed sensor on the tail shaft..purple and green wires. I unplugged the rest and zip tied em all out of the way. Bought a 261 tcase linkage piece for the case shift end to use the ball style linkage. Shifts real nice just like before and no lights on either...

    Heres the start so far
    263 out

4l80e cleaned up and gasket ready, sorry crooked..lol.

interior shifter, fit and looks decent, i cleaned it up after

Interior pocket to replace the switch.

    Re: Start of 2500hd sas....

Cage closed, an employee jim cole bought the prints and drawings and opened bloodyknucklegarage.com, he is very helpfull and knows his stuff. Alot of his stuff is the cage design without the cage logo. It takes about 3 weeks to get the parts but a week of that is shipping from west coast to east coast. Im keeping 37s on it since there pretty new, they have about 8,000 miles on them. The coil kit should be 8.5 inches of lift, i have now about 9.5. So when the fronts done and settles a bit ill level out the rear. It has big blocks now in the rear so i want to do away with them with prob a ord shackle flip or even a set of lift springs. I had the shaft retubed and made longer, came out perfect and no vibed.

...........Edit........ arms, mounts and hardware came in today, trac bar and coils will be here by the end of the week. I never thought they were as heavy and tough until i carried and opened the boxes.

This is going to be sick!

Im looking at your headlight switch, I noticed it says "auto" on it. If its not switched to auto do the lights only come on manually? If so thats sick because I hate my autos

    Re: Start of 2500hd sas....

The auto setting they come on by them selves, the driving lights are always on. You can do them manual too but i just leave it in auto, also you can click it back to the circle to shut them all off, ive seen the older style 99-02 doesnt have that.

I unplugged the battery for a little while and then hooked it back up, i started it just to see if the service 4wd light would come on but it stayed off. For some reason tho last night i started it up and it idled ok but when in gear it idled at 4-500, i read that there is a few key cycles and some miles before it reads where the rpms should be, im not sure if thats the truth tho, im still searching. Im cleaning the mas air and the throttlebody this week so i hope that helps too.

    Re: Start of 2500hd sas....

Thankyou, its getting there. Will be a few weeks prob till i get the time and garage space to do the rest of the build, im pretty sure i have all the parts covered. Should be pretty tough when done, hopefully with the coil springs it rides good. I was told the progressive rate coils have a decent ride and flex good.

Some things on my kit are altered, the crossmember under the coil buckets is bolt on instead of weld on, the trac bar mount is raised up since ill be using ord crossover/highsteer. Thats so the angle of the draglink and the trac bar match. Also the trac bar is with heim joints instead of like the origional kit. I picked up some lengths of brakeline so i can route the brakeline like in the pic behind the coil spring. I just have to find some clips for the line to hold it against the frame.

    Re: Start of 2500hd sas....

Looking forward to seeing some build pics, this kit works great. I've pounded mine through the bush and back numerous times with no failures. I get great flex out of it. Something I did do to mine that you may consider.

The lower coil buckets where they mount to the weld on axle C's for the A arms. After install i noticed that I could see them actaully tilting, with the coils pushing more on one side than the other caused this. I fixed mine by using 1/2" plate with a 45 deg bend in it, bolting through the plate to the original mount holes for alignment. And welding the plate steel to the axle at the end of the 45 bend, the weld on C's, and welded the lower coil bucket down. This is also on the original cage design, it might be diff. on the newer design. But soemthing to watch out for.
99 Silverado 1500. Coil spring SAS, D50 upfront, 14BFF outback (Detroit Locker), both 4.56 gears. NP241 swap. 3" Body Lift. 35" rubber.Dual exhaust + x-pipe, K/N, Gran MAFS, BBK 80mm throttle body, edelbrock headers.
Next mod = Tryin to convince wife to let me do a diesel swap 3.9L or 4.5L cummins

    Re: Start of 2500hd sas....

Hopefully shortly i will get to the rest, ill have to look at the lower coil bucket. Its prob the same as yours so ill have to do something with it if it ends up the same way. I have longer coils, the 8.5 tall instead of the 6.5. I hope its not too tall or ill be getting the shorter coils.

Why would you switch it to chevy outers? Both are 8 lug... only difference is the dual piston vs single piston calipers

I bought it that way, he said to use gm outers, brakes etc since its cheaper...duno, its nice and clean with all the steering for the price. Just have to do the tone ring kit and bolt it in. Still not sure if i want to regear or not from the 410s to 488s..

    Re: Start of 2500hd sas....

Did the abs tone ring kit from dlux fab yesterday, came out good. Had to trim the corners of the sensor but all good, it was only an 1/8 inch. Came to a few conclusions tho, from the measurements in the kit my fender heigth is going to be way too huge with the 8.5 coil springs. Im going to be using the 6.5 springs since the measurements on the fender heigth will be a lil closer to what i have now. Im at now 48.5 - 49.0, with the 8.5 id be over 51, so the 6.5 would get me around 49....thats more like it. I would leave it taller but its my daily driver and bumper heigth is already over now...lol.

I have the 6.5 springs coming, thursday is the start of the ifs removal and frame cleaning. I hope to have the ifs out and all the brackets plasma cut off and ground by mid friday. By taking my time i think ill be ok with 4 days to do it, we will see tho. The delay sucked but works real busy so thats atleast real good. Might just buy rear skyjackers in 6 inch flavor and use a one inch block or so to level it out.....but im no sure how they will ride.

Anyone wanting to do this type of swap, jim cole at bloody knuckle garage is a great guy to deal with, hes been real good to me . I want this thing done like yesterday but it is what it is.
