If they fit they look stuffed. I'd suggest 9" for 39's or 40's.
And I don't know what truck we're talking about but I would not recommend 40's on a 10 bolt axle...

The truck is getting all 8 luged so it will be either a 12 or 14 bolt or I will use one of the Dana 60's from my Ford stash on it. And 8 inch kit I assume would be good for 40's (I love Ground Hawgs) Its a 1981 K.

I see no reason why a 12 bolt wouldn't hold up to it.... Lol I may jsut go Dana 60 in that case.

For one, no 8 lug 12 bolts ever. For Two, No, I'm pushing mine with 36s. And for the record: Mine is on 6" and 36s, They rub fairly easily if I flex the front.

I was always under the impression the 14 bolt was HD 3/4 tons and 1 tons with most 3/4 tons having a 12 bolt, so I am sorry lol. Thank you for that! I am a Ford guy mainly, hence why I am here asking. And I wotn be doing much flexing. its going to be driven around with very little off roading, and it will pull sled mainly. But thanks!

Re: K20 with 6 inches of lift fitting 37's?

no, the LD 3/4 ton had a semi-float 14 bolt. and i get the impression you were talking about a 12-bolt front axle...well, that doesn't exist. the 3/4 ton 4x4s were only Dana 44s (or 10-bolts in later years) with 8-lug outers. so basically, putting the 8-lug front on it isn't going to prepare you any more for bigger tires than you would be as a half-ton. if you have a D60, use it. you'll get tired of repairing your "3/4 ton" front end eventually if you're running 40" tires...

also, no, 39's aren't going to fit on a 6" without trimming. and a good bit of it. 37's require proper backspacing. these guys saying "oh, i'm running 52's on a stock truck" (being sarcastic) are either full of it or they know exactly the right backspacing to make it work. honestly some of the best wheels for fitting big tires under a lower truck are stockers. the backspacing just works perfectly. good luck with whatever you do bud!

No 12 bolt rear end. And I am talking a Dana 60 out of a old 70's Ford. (If it would just let me put a sig) I am a Ford guy, can tellyou alot about the 73-79 series Trucks and the 94.5-97 First Gen 7.3 Powerstrokes, and I am new to Chevies and I am trying to learn what I can. The trucks is a stock 81 K10 with the 10 bolt front axle. Yes I know what your saying cause all you do is switch out the the hubs and such and you can go from 6 to 8 lug (Just like on 70's fords you can swap the hubs on F150's so you just have to swap in a 8 lug rear) I just want to do this right so less hassels. I am more worried about it breaking with 35's and hooked onto the sled. But I appreciate it and I probably am going to do 6 inches of lift with some power king 35's on stock rims. Haha but this has been a TON of help, and I appreciate it always!

    then they'd have 7.5" BS...

i have personally put 5" BS wheels on a K5 blazer front axle with no problem. my soft 8s with 5.5" BS nearly cleared my old roommates 90 K5.
