I know I will have to trim the front fenders. I have four old steel 8lug 16.5" chevy K20 rims that have that great offset. I imagine that the tires will clear with alot of trimming. What do you think? 4" spring lift in fornt with 4 inch blocks in rear. I could get 36's instead but will 37's fit? (These tires are coming from a humvee military surplus warehouse for $170 per tire with 90% tread. Either Goodyear H1 or BFGoodrich Baja's. Check em out on ebay:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/37-12...item27be7b542a

I just don't want to buy them, ship them here, then find out they won't fit unless I get more lift. I think they'll squeeze in there. (I'm not going to be loading this turck up with weight nor will it see trails. Just for toolin around maybe hit a cornfield or two up or go to the river and campout. nothing extreme so I don't think that the tires will hit the fenders ever..)

can you please explain why you say that? I've seen several examples of this size tire fitting on a truck like mine with 4" of lift. I've heard of stock height trucks like mine riding on 35's with offset rims..

Those tires don't measure out to 37" anyway, most sets I have seen are around 35" or so. Should fit if not trim like you said. How much offset do the have?

IMO, since i have driven the crap outta the HMMWVs at work, i would not spend money on the H1s, the Bajas are so much nicer. they run them on the uparmored trucks and they work much better off pavement then the H1s which load up with debris pretty bad in our type of terrain here.

oh okay. yeah I talked to them and the bajas are in my price range. im just wondering if I'm going to regret the purchase when they arrive and I can't use them without buying parts for more lift..

If you don't mind trimming the fenders then there will be no issue fitting those tires with a 4" lift. I currently run 39.5x15.5 TSL's on a 4" lift and wheel it heavily. Lots of trimming but it doesn't look like the fenders and half hacked off (IMO). It does have slight rubbing but I also don't run a sway bar. Previously ran 13/38-16 TSL's with a lot less trimming and absolutely no rubbing.

Too big IMO. My 85 has a 4" lift with 33x12.50's and no trimming. I get compliments on how good it looks all the time, and it flexes great......I'm not really into hacking up my truck though.

Scroll up and look how good ryanthomson's 87 looks on 36's with a 6" lift, compared to how bad misfit's buddy's truck looks with 37's on a 3"lift......like i said, my opinion only.

My dad ran 37x14.50 Armstrong Tru-Tracs on his '78 K10 back in the day with a 4" lift. He had to do some trimming, but it looked kind of cool. Be prepared to mangle the fenders though if you hit bumps at all.

Thanks to 454SS for the sig!
