Was putting my 3" blocks in the rear, and noticed my passenger side was sitting approx. 1.5" lower then the drivers side. I am assuming its the leafspring as the shackle is fine. So I am looking for an upgrade.... could I get some 3/4ton leaf springs and put them in the rear for a little extra lift and being able to put more in the bed? or are the 1/2ton springs fine? Ride is not all that important, as its a truck (i do plan on lifting it 6" next year).
After thinking it was the leaf spring I came to thinking it could be the bushing, but I'm thinking of still replacing the leaf springs, and doing new bushings with shackles. What does everyone suggest for an upgrade?
I can pick up some 8200GVW 3/4ton leaf springs for $100ea from the junkyard with a 30 day warrenty.
Completely off topic - but would 3/4ton torsion bars fit from the same year as well? would that give it a little more lift up front? previous owner used my truck for plowing, so the t-bars are kind of weak......

a set of add a leafs may help them out some. I'm not sure about the 3/4ton springs, it would seem like they would fit.
I took the passenger side stock block out, put in my 3" block and when I dropped it, the leaf spring bows up. So its pretty well shot. Guess I will be looking at upgrading to some 8200GVW leaf springs. I know the OBS style you could swap over to 3/4ton leaf springs into a 1/2ton.
As far as I know, 3/4 ton springs will fit. As I plan on doing this swap eventually....dam chevy lean
