the maxxis big horns are a good tire for the money,I got mine a year ago for 750.They were 285s.I think im going to end up with a little over 30,000 out of them, they wear very even ,and not to loud also pull very well in mud.

I second the TSR. I put a set of 315 75 16 on my 94 rcsb with a 3 inch body lift and a little trim and they look and work great!

They run small/average/big in comparison to other 315s?

    Re: mud tires

I just put some 315/75 16 Hercules Trail Digger MT's on my truck and so far i have been very happy with them. Not that much road noise (yet) and good traction in the mud. Just my personal opinion. They were about $300ish a tire at list price but I got them for $220 each through my shop

Well, generally speaking here, yes...but it all depends on the wheel and the second number. A 285/85/16 is a 35" tire, or more commonly a 285/75/18 is a 35", I've run that size before.

It was an example that 285 is width, not height.

And 285/75/18's are common, and I've had them, and they are 35's.
