well, as u remember i changed the maf back to stock from the Granatelli. the GMS was settin off codes all the time. after i did this the truck surged badly when i give it gas. after about 30 sec its gone and it runs fine. even after i re-set the ECU, it stil does this. There is no SES light also.
so now whats goin on? it still surges initially when i put it in drive. seems like not enough fuel is gettin into the engine...

    any ideas?

Does the stock maf still have the screen in it? Al;so, is the maf located near a sharp bend? If so, the sensor could be experiencing unequal flow across the sensor.

The screen is there to evenly distribute air flow over the sensor itself for accurate air numbers. A lot of people remove it but it's not worth a dime in HP numbers in my book.

I just went form stock to Granatelli. Did you unhooked the battery leads during the swap?

sorry it took me soo long to respond, been workin a lot!!!

    to answer a few questions...
    1. yes, the maf is right after a bend in piping.
    2. i did unhook the battery when changing maf's. and reset ECU.
    3. stock maf still has screen in it.
    4. i don't have acess to datascanner but it will be dyno tuned very shortly with a wideband o2 sensor.

    thanks for the help!

Just out of curiosity....where would I find a 'wind band' O2 sensor if I wanted to pick one up?
    Thanks

Your truck needs to get tuned by Ed Wright at Fastchip! Who is it tuned by right now? If its not tuned professionally on a dyno, it'll run bad and probably self destruct in short order.
