LT1s first appeared in '92 in the C4 I believe.
Perhaps the cooling fans weren't on or the coolant is low.
Or the sender/gauge does not work...

How hot should the temp gauge be reading while under normal driving conditions? I sat in my friends vette and it read almost 280, and i know damn well it shouldbnt be that high. its the 5.7 lt1 i think, not for sure. im guessing a 95or 96 model vette.

190-ish, 280 is way hot.
one of the vettes runs WAY hot. I think its the ls6 though

If it was running 280, something is seriously wrong.
