As far as good midlength to full length headers good brands are Thorley, The Other Guys, and Lapole. These brands may seem pricey, but are high quality and would go great w/ a supercharger or other big mod down the road. As far as something that doesn't cost too much Gibson headers are supposed to be good. I'll probably go w/ some Thorley Tri-Y's when I get to the point I think I need headers.

97 C1500 Ext. Cab 5.7L, MSD 6A and Blaster Coil using Super Conductor wires, Flowmaster American Thunder catback, Volant Intake. Amsoil 5w-30 synthetic oil, and Wester's 93 Hot Tune.

When my engine was stock i would say that the headers made the biggest improvement in power, i would recomend them to anyone as a first mod with exhaust... I ran the thorleys, and the sotp was SOOOO much better.. Not to mention it went from me losing to a car i always raced by about 2.5 cars to being dead even

Yeah, but it's kinda costly for just one thing. I'm mostly holding off because I have pretty good performance w/ the Wester's PCM and want to spend $$ on getting the exterior looking better. $600+ for a set of ceramic coated headers is a bit much to be paying right now for just one item. However, if you got the $$ and you want headers they are definately a good investment.
