Which headers provide the most HP/Torque? The thorley headers are $419 with the nickle chrome coating. Any body have this coating, how is it? The TOG headers are $739 without ceramic. Which should I go with? Thanks

I ordered the Thorley last week they should be here soon and with my Corsa sport cat back it should sound pretty good. I hope anyway, and a little more power would be great.

i cant imagine TOG headers being worth $320 more than the thorleys...thats enough for a custom tune
no, they're not that much more. both are great quality. i went went with TOGs b/c of their lifetime warranty, thick, CARB # and local.

where is the best place to buy TOG, and how much are they? Thanks

you can try some of the sponsers. i got my set from the shop direct with their ceramic coating for a very good price - much, much less than you posted.

$739 seems like a crap load for headers that aren't even coated. I don't know how nickle chrome coating does but I doubt it's better than ceramic.
ASM has nice headers too.
I think the Thorley Tri-Ys are nice for the price. If you are looking for some high quality, hand builts ones, that dont cost much more than the TOGs, look into LaPole Custom Headers, here is the webiste. www.pvmufflers.com They come already ceramic coated. Thats what I am saving up for!

I ordered the Thorley Tri-Y ceramic coated headers through Summit Racing and am waiting for them to arrive. From what I have heard/read, the ceramic coating is worth the extra money. The coating keeps the engine temps down, which will help with the HP/TQ you are interested in gaining, plus it should reduce the possibility of damaging other heat sensitive components.Originally Posted by bigredz
Unless you are drag racing, you'll probably have better satisfaction from the Thorley headers. Reason I state that is because the Thorley's supposedly have a wider RPM band compared to the equal length headers which are "tuned" for a given RPM band - typically higher RPMs for racing.
TOG and Thorley are comparable in flange thickness and both have CARB #s for emissions. Given that you are not local to the TOG facility in California, and that your vehicle seems to be setup for offroading, you will probably be very happy with the Thorley header.
Shipping is very fast from Summit... as long as they have the parts in stock. Since you seem to be interested in the chrome plated headers, you'd likely have the headers in a couple of days. The reason mine (coated Thorley) are taking about a month is because Summit didn't have them in stock and apparently they are being built/coated by Thorley.
