cliff notes: in town + highway driving + bigger tires + PCMforless has better gas milage that stock and 100% highway.
when i first got it, i was a bit bitter. I was pulling down like 12mpg (at 90mph, i was in a rush) but I was also still on 89 octane for a 93 tune (mostly 87 with a bit of 94 before i swapped pcms) so it was probobbly pulling timing like a mofo.
Now for the fill up on 93 octane:
When the truck was 100% stock,i pulled down about 17.3 mpg highway at 70-75mph pure highway or about 410miles before the light went off. I now have a brushguard, aux lights, no air dam and 305/70/16 tires!
as of last night:
combine in town/highway driving and 30 min of idleing in neighboring appartment parkinglot (steal internet, mine got hooked up today). I was a hair above 1/4 tank mark with 110-115miles down already! Since I knew I was going for milage, i've been driving pretty tame- going with flow of traffic in the right 2 lanes (out of 4) which is usually in the range of 65-75. My commute to work is durring rush hour, but I go agaist traffic so its just congested, not backed up.
Like I said, there is a fair amount of in town driving. traffic lights, small hills, appartmetn complext, merging on and off highway etc. With all that taken into concideration, i should still TOP pure highway.
I'll be continuing efforts to increase gas milage, even though most of the stuff wont pay off. Its still fun just to see results. Next will be headers and some flat underbody panneling/skid plates. The big gain should be the LS1. I hope to have that in within the year with higher compressoin. hopefuly 3 points of compression, -100lbs and all the other goodies can really get me going(or err keep me going)

How good was the power increase fromt he PCM. I'm debating on whether or not to go with them or Nelson or Westers.

bryan is a VERY knowlegable tuner. He has tons of dyno expierence. I wouldn't trust anyone elseI promise you wont be sorry
I mean the power isn't "HOLY CRAP" LIKE N2O or a cam- but you can just notice better throttle responce and a little more torque through the band.
Getting rid of tq managemetn was GREAT. It downshifts when I want it to. wonderful. feels like different truck as far as powertrain and drivetrain responce goes.

I just ran my first tank through my Impala SS with bryan's tuning and before I was getting about 13mpg (around 150 miles per 30 dollars of 93). Right now I am at 160 miles and I have OVER 1/4 of a tank left. I put in 30 bucks whenever the low fuel light comes on. It looks like I should get a good 50-60 mile improvement which should equate to about 3-4 more MPG!!!1
