I might be getting that $100 custom chip here in a few weeks and I wondered how much TM it would be safe to remove. I don't have to worry about tranny abuse since it's a manual. 80%, 90%? Probably shouldn't remove it all. Is it bad to remove lots of it if I plan on towing a lot? I figure no since torque is what you need for towing. I'll probably be going with the 87/89 dual tune and run it on a 50/50 mix resulting in 88 octane. Or maybe I'll get a 91 tune and run it on 89/93

Please note again that I have a MANUAL transmission, since everybody automatically assumes you have an auto trans when asking about TM (no pun intended). Thanks :)

There are several different tables in which to remove TM. I've never figured out which tuner removes TM from what tables. On my PCM for less he says he removed all TM, but I think that is just from one table.

It can be, but I have no clue why they would put TM on a nv4500.

I've got a '99 Tahoe. Went in with TunerCat software and set TM Enable temp to 155 degrees C, so basically its never enabled. No problems at all and picked up a ton of throttle response. Also eliminated a P0300 code I was getting when climbing hills on the freeway.
