I believe the mod is worth it. I installed one Perma-cool PRM-19115 16" with a temperature and a/c controlled switch using my stock fan shroud. (~$150 total) This fan with a 180deg thermostat works great. Only on days of 100+deg weather does the engine temp get close to 200. If you want to spend the $$$ for the dual setups with their own shroud you can, but what I am saying is that you don't have to spend that much for a setup that works. As for performance it definatly won't hurt. I couldn't tell you what the fan alone feels like because I installed mine with underdrive pullies at the time. I can say that the fan with the underdrive pullies definately made a difference. The biggest reason for the electric fan was that in the summer the stock clutch-fan was almost as loud as my exhaust!

hey 95nprogress what is the part number to the switch that you hooked up to get the fans to work. Im thinking about getting this kit if you say it works good. Where do you live that gets 100 degrees cause i live in florida and it gets quite hot during the summer.

If you want more power...get some lower rear gears...best bang for the buck

    bizzybone485,

I am using a fan switch from Pepboys, it is a made by Derale. Link is below. It has a radiator probe, temperature adjustment pot, A/C clutch input and replacable relay, its an ok unit. I have had some issues with it, sometimes it stays on after the key is turned off (and it is not suposed to do this) kind like the relay is sticking but have replaced the relay and it still does it. And now this winter, after about 4 years it only seems to be turning the fan on when the A/C clutch activates it. For the price and bells and whistles I will probably just get another one, four years of use seems somewhat ok not great but just ok.
