alright guys, well im new to this scene and new to this site, but not new to cars. ive already rebuilt 2 acura integra engines and put them in civics. i rebuilt 2 350 fresh water cooled boat motors. tools and engines im fine with, its just the all the differences in each genre of the automotive world that i need help with. i want to put a 454, bored .100 over and stroked .25 inch into a 1985 chevy suburban 2wd 2500. i also plan on attatching it to a very well built 700r4. is this just a matter of changing out the motor/tranny mounts and getting a shorter driveshaft or (im sure there are) more issues than that. any help in this reguard would be greatly appreciated.

If it ain't broke, fix it till you are...
What drive train was in the 85 suburban? As far as for the .100 over bored 454 (I am assumming it is a Gen IV block), the cylinder walls are paper thin. Is the block partially filled?

ye .100 over seems alot, can you go that much?
thank you, you all have a very nice site here. the burb has a 305 with a 700r4 in it now. you can go out to .125 over before you need resleeving. this motor wont see any forced induction, just a big ass cam, so the cylinders should be fine, if not, i got another one sitting around anyway, haha.

You should be able to swap the drive train without changing any of the mounts and drive shaft that you mentioned above. One issue that I can think of is the fuel system.

im gonna keep it carbed. you mean a higher pressure fuel pump or something?
Ye, what carb are you running neway, Are you sure you can handle all this were not taking civics and acuras now.![]()

For carb's, all you need is 7 psi. I was referring to volume. 100 over plus .25 stroke is over 500 cu.in.

still havent fully decided on the top end. my machine shop guy is gonna help me out with most of these decisions. theres this guy out of florida called fast engine parts and all he handles is big block stuff. ill see what he thinks too. yeah i know this isnt honda or acura or mitsubishi, but i had to start somewhere with those too. i think ill be more than ok.
