    I ended up with a set of LS1 fans from a 99 Z28 - eBay 101.00 shipped.

I went with the new flex-a-lite Thermostatic, adjustable controller - Summit Racing 78.95
Very nice set up, and the only way to go for those of us with older trucks that can't have the pcm programmed to run them.

There is a 6 second delay after turning the key on so there is no amp draw while starting.
You can adjust the temperature from 160 to 220.
When the fans come on they start at 60% to reduce the initial voltage spike then if the tempereature rises 10 degrees or more from your initial turn on temp they kick in at 100%.
When you turn on your A/C the fans will start even if below operating temp.
The fans stay on for 30 seconds after you shut the motor down.
You have the option of installing a switch for a manual over-ride (fans on at 100% regardless of temperature).
You also have the option of installinga manual over-ride to turn the fans off under any circumstances (good for you 4X4s at water crossings).

All in all I am very happy with the set up and I really like hearing the motor without listening to that damn clutch fan roar!

I do believe I can actually tell the difference!

I'm still wondering what I can do with mine, they jolt the voltage guage pretty good when they kick in and out - it's mostly from running the A/C though. I have mine set up to run off of the PCM and A/C signal.
