Hey everybody just wanting some help or ideas. I have a 1999 chevy 2500 with a 6.0L motor. I would like to get more pulling power.. What I have done so far is hyper-tech III programer, headers, K&N air filter, flo-master exhaust.. The truck has a 373 rear end, I know I could change that but for now I was woundering if there is anything I could do to the motor to get more torque, I figure they tone them down. I am going to be pulling a 5th wheel camper..
    Thanks for amy help..

Sell the Hypertech and the flowmaster and go with a custom tune and a better flowing muffler

I would also say custom tune from PCM4less or Nelson Performance. If you decide to do that, be sure to note all of your mods and tell them about your towing needs. I'm sure they can fix up your tow/haul button to accomodate

I have the same set up headers, flowmaster. But I have a computer tune and what a difference it makes, way better then the Hypertech I had.

Same here, I have a nelsons tune. What a difference that made.
More miles per gallon and better performance.
It really woke the 6.0 up,I can now pull step grades without it down shifting.

Thanks for the help, sounds like a custom tune is the way I need to go. Now I see there is wait4me, nelsons, and westers custom tune. Any one better then the other, there is a big price differance between wait4me and the others. I know in some things you get what you pay for..

    Thanks

What you need is a complete cold air intake. K&N is a good one and so is airaid which is what i have. They all give about the same gains in performance. I would go with a wait4me tune. Cost less and I don't see what any one else could do to a pcm that could justify being $200.00 more than what Jesse can do.
2002 black ext Z71. Airaid, throttle body spacer, Gibson cat-back, Wait4me tune, Optima red top, Alpine Type-S speakers.

Hey decided to go with the w4m tune, I am going to give it a try. I did have a hypertech so I am hoping I will see some differance... I hope to have it by the weekend, Talked to jesse I could order one and it would take hime about 2 weeks, but if I sent my pcm in then he would do it right away and get it right back to me. if you don't need the truck it is also cheaper that way. Also I was reading some of the threads and some people were wondering what they would do with there paper weight of an old pcm, I know if you order the complete pcm from jesse, and if you send yours back to him he will give you a core charge back... Darn good price on a custome tune if you ask me..

I'm keeping my stock PCM for the duration of my warranty. Although I'd have to reinstall the mechanical fan with it.....it gives me a warm fuzzy knowing it's sitting on the shelf in the garage
