which super cooler did u get? take some pictures, i am installing the b&m 70266 11x8x1.5 on tuesday, looks like i will just be replacing the stock one with the new one except putting in adapters since the new super cooler (my 70266 model i think the smaller ones is 3/8npt) has 1/2 npt fittings, and i believe the stock one is 3/8 npt, correct me if im wrong

Re: How do install B&M super cooler?

I just installed a Perma-Cool Maxi-Cool on my 2001 Tahoe, 5.3L and 4L60E. The Maxi-Cool has a 1250cfm fan attached to it and is a 6 pass cooler. I removed the pitiful stock cooler and hooked up the Perma-Cool. It was simple....just be sure you know which line is the in and which is the out before you start. If you are not sure which line is which, drive the truck then go to the stock cooler and touch the lines. The really hot one is the in and the one that is a little cooler is the out.

Once you install everything, start the truck and check the fluid level. My cooler is big and I needed to add about a quart of ATF to get it full again.

I did the whole install last Thursday after work and before dinner. Total time was around 1.5 hours including the removal of the grille, headlights and that stuff. Good luck.

your trans temp stays at 185? what was it before? i know last summer my stock trans temp gauge stayed around 140 the hottest even when towing, this year after changing to e fans it stays right at 200 now, i know i've heard ideal trans temp is 160-200, id like to keep it closer to the 160 mark
