Hi can some one tell me whats a realy good 383 stroker kit out there.I did a search on ebay and there is quite a bit diffrent ones listed and i'am not sure what one will be a good buy.I'am trying to rebuild my motor and ditch the 305 in it and get the most torque possabile in order to pull my rv..i need to gain at least 400 if not more in torque..Thanks
I just put a 383 in my 94' K5 Blazer. I did a ton of research making my decision, and I bought my motor from Jasper in Indiana. It's a Class 2 383 for the TBI motor. It's rated @ 325hp and 425trq. It's a beast, it also came with the chip as well. I don't know what they're selling for now, but I felt it was a good deal. I also recommend doing headers, and electric fans. I average 12-13mpg in town with 3.73 gears.

What's a class 2 383?
12-13mpg, maybe I don't want to go stroker. What did you get when it was a 350?

Hey 383K5 what did you pay for your motor at the time. What size injectors are u running?
[QUOTE=89chevy2500_4x4]IIRC, Jasper specs 454 injectors with that engine and the chip is setup for them. It is a really nice engine for the $$$.Originally Posted by 383K5

arent these estimates for a stock tbi with 454 injectors and.. a stock intake ??If so- that's sweet.....still room for more horsepower if you upgrade to a 670 tbi and better intake.. maybe even a custom tune to tweak it all out..

I also want to add that I'm running the 454 injectors 65lbs? I was looking for the box they came in. As for the TBI, it's a stock unit. I also added a full MSD 6AL, as well. I got around 14.6 mpg with the 350 all around driving. I plan on doing a dyno run in August, I will post those numbers once that is done. As for the quality of the engine from Jasper, it has top shelf parts and the install went well. I don't regret the swap one bit.
I forgot to post this.....I paid $3,300.00 for the motor and chip delivered. http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/.../sorrysign.gif
