I assume by your name that u have a 98. Some people remove the silencer on the intake..the box that says vortec on it.....and replaced it with a spray paint cap or a cut off soda bottle. Makes you exhaust louder and maybe a slight difference in power.

    Re: Custom intake

I like deep water. anyone make a home snorkel kit for their chevy? I am looking for Ideas for my 2000 1500..Its on 6" lift but some of the water crossings have deep holes, and i dont want to chance it anymore. Everytime water rushes the hood, im like oh no..this is it..hydrolock..but never has happend. I have owned two silverados my 2000, and my recently deceased 05 which was crushed by a dump truck. I have rushed water over the hood many times, and the filter has yet to get wet. When i mean rush, i mean i slowly go into the water, and thats how deep it is. ALso, anyone else experiance the bed floating? My rear tires spin but arent hitting the bottom..its fun, and really scares people when your in 2

What I did is get a thick piece of plastic!
Go to a hard ware store and ask for the thickest viscueen (i think thats how you spell it) they have.
Certinally looks better than a coke bottle!

    Re: Custom intake

WTF? What does this do? It cuts off the air flow to the intake? what does that little box do? Is this the best for offroading and mudding?

    Re: Custom intake

All it does it gives the air an easier way to travel into the engine. It probably does not help much but I just did not like the way that box looked on there!!!!!!!
