Does anyone make a high performance "bolt in" Y pipe without cats for the 97/98 fullsize with 5.7l and stock manifolds? If so who? And do they make it in stainless.. The stock one is soo small and the cats need to go as well..
Thanks for any help

Check with Jegs's,I know they have one for the 88-95 TBI trucks.

OK they have one in aluminized tube. Anyone have one in stainless?? Also they do not have o2 sims they also said they have no idea where to get them, so any ideas?
I think edelbrock makes a y-pipe, but it goes with their TES headers. I doubt it would reach the manifolds though. I'm pretty sure an exhaust shop could fab up on for you.
If it was my truck, I'd get rid of the y-pipe and go true duals with hi-flo cats and a set of long tubes. But I also would have a little problem getting an inspection, like I did about a month ago.
Pauly, a guy on here who could probably build a 96-98 c-1500, would know exactly what to do about O2 sensors. But I think a tune would allow you to keep them.
Pretty much all exhaust piping is aluminized. That pipe is going to rust. Just to let you know.

I put a 3/4 ton and up exhaust on my 1998 express along with shorty headers for the 3/4 ton truck. The 3/4 ton and ups have bigger head pipes, larger freer flowing cats, but hook to the existing muffler. Big improvement in power.
I am not interested in headers, just the off road crossover. "true duals" do nothing for me, true performance, reliability, and not having a pain in my butt at inspection time, does. So I would like to go with a "bolt on" crossover that will work with all my stock exhaust pieces. Th Jegs unit looks like it will work well, the only better thing would be if someone made it in stainless. All I will then need is the part number, or source for O2 simulators since I already have the tune I want and do not wish to change it at all.
Thanks for any help,
Josh
