Hey guys, I need a bit of help. I have a 2000 1/2 ton with a 5.3 My mods are K&N fipk and a flowmaster sinal to dual kit and a hypertech tuner. It seems that my truck has no bottom end power. but it has lots of topend. I bought the truck used from a dealership. It could brun the tire off. after I did the mods above it has all topend. It seems like im not geting enuf fuel. The truck did come with 245's and I did put 265's on it like the z71's. That why i got the hypertech tuner. I changed tire size and the gas to 89 or better and stiffed the shifts up a bit. I am also getting a miss fire every once and a wile. well at least it seems like a miss fire. this has happend ever sins i got the truck. So the first thing i did was change the plugs. and wires. guys think i might have a bad coil? Reason i am asking is because its not turned on a check light yet.
thanks for all your help. I did look around the site before i posted but did not find anything.

How many miles on your truck?

When I bought my truck it came with the hypertech programmer, and honestly, after removing the hypertech programming I think I actually gained power. It felt much better in the bottom end. Try going back to the stock programming and let us know if its any better.

Also, just might want to check your mass air sensor. Mine became quite dirty after my K&N FIPK upgrade. The hotwires get dirty, and wont read properly. You can try spraying some electronics cleaner on them, or clean them gently with a q-tip.

I don't think the Hypertech removes any torque management or disable the abuse mode.

No it wont, but the hypertech tuning is less then ideal...

With 112000miles it might just be time for a tuneup. Replace your fuel filter, they're cheap and easy to replace.

Run some Chevron Techron "Concentrate" or Redline SI-1 in the gas and get some hi Rev's with it !!!

Works wonders when I get similar issues...
