    Re: axle swap questons

What are the odds??? I just did this swap in my buddy's truck... He has a floating 14 bolt corperate now. Eight lugs and everything. The axle went in without a problem. Everything measured up. You will need a new U joint and a custom driveshaft. As far as the front goes... He told me that is a direct swap.
You will have some SERIOUS axle-wrap, so get some CalTracs when you can...

    Re: axle swap questons

To anybody that can help me with this problem..
I have just swapped in a dana 44 into my 1997 1500 pickup the swap went well at times and not so well at others, I now am having a problem with my brakes, they worked fine when the truck was parked for the swap.
All is the same from the master cylinder to the brake lines, I get fluid to all the bleeder screws and have bled the system numerous times but the brake pedal hits the floor still??
This is frustrating me to no end, I have read most of the threads on the axle swap and have nowhere read of anybody having this problem or any mention of having to replace the master cylinder.
Does the master cylinder have to be replaced, or do i have to reroute the brake line and get away from the abs system completely and install a proportioning valve in this system ??
Any help would be greatly appreciated in this matter.
