Hey, I had an idea for a cheap exhaust setup. Just before the muffler on my truck, it is 2 into the muffler and then comes out in a single pipe. What if I put a 2-into-1 merge collecter, welded a cutout in immediately after it and just before the muffler, and continued out the back with a 1-into-1 muffler. Does anyone have any opinions on this and/or experience? Thanks

what are you looking for sound or performance?
Mostly sound, I know the performance will be minimal, and slightly better MPG possibly, but 99% just the sound.

i wouldnt bet on better milage.

what kind of sound do you want loud and annoying or nice rumble sound
Oh I know it is going to be a loud machine-gun sounding exhaust, I am just looking for something cheap to have fun with.

go with straight pipes if you alread got two pipes headin in to your muffler and you are talking about getting another one that is single in single out just cut them off and take 2 straight pipes all the way back thats what I am going to do with my truck it will give you the loud popping sound when you hammer it but it will be that loud rumble sound when just driving around.
But I don't want loud ALL the time, hence the cutout. I can go through a Magnaflow muffler and be almost as quiet as stock.
