I plan on buying a Marine intake setup and I was wondering what mods are needed to be done to it for it to work on my 97' Vortec 350? I've read somewhere and can't it that you need some kind of install kit that is sold by a guy named Pauly I think. I've also read somewhere that you have to drill things and stuff. When I convert to Marine I want to keep my EGR. I'm buying a Whipple and would like to know what needs to be done to combo these two just right.

The whipple I'm getting bolts on the right side of the engine. It's not on top.

yeah the OBS whipples are like that, but they have an intake tube that runs up top and connects to the TB. 99bluetahoe will have much more info on the whipples that I will though.

That's pretty sick. How difficult is it to install the marine intake w/ EGR and the whipple?

Where can you buy whipples for our trucks? I know Whipple doesn;t sell them anymore but there has to be a place that sells them

The only way to get one now would be to find one used. I see them sometimes on ebay.

Also to retain EGR with the marine intake, you will have to use some sort of divorced setup like the NBS trucks used. I currently don't have EGR hooked up.

I don't really know how its affected me. Once I get it on there, I'll find out. If it lowers my emission, and gets me better mileage, I'm all for it. I'll also need it to pass smog next year.

So you can't pass a inspection without EGR? or is this a CA thing?

I have a question....I've heard that you need to have a throttle body spacer to be able to use cruise control on the marine intake? So how will this effect the install of the Whipple?

It will not affect it. The throttle body is relocated before the compressor with the whipple kit and the cruise control will function properly.
